History of the Mauler
Marty is a native of the East Coast of Canada. Unlike many professional athletes who experience great success, Marty has not forgotten where he came from. Despite travelling to all corners of the world on a regular basis for matches, Marty still calls Halifax his home. In fact, he has established a wrestling school for those who want to try and make it in the business and as well for those already in the business who want to improve themselves.
Marty began his wrestling career in bars and taverns. His reputation grew as a force to be reckoned with. This brought a representative from the now defunct Firepro Prowrestling Association (FPA) to one of his matches. After seeing The Mauler in action, this scout then signed Marty. Marty began his transition from makeshift wrestling rings found in bars and taverns to the world of professional wrestling. In his short tenure with the FPA, Marty quickly climbed the ranks and earned a title shot. Despite losing at his first shot at championship gold, Marty did what no other man had done, he had permanently injured the reigning champion.
Shortly after the demise of the FPA, Marty joined a new upstart league called the Human Wrestling Association (HWA). Using what he learned from his time in the FPA, Marty quickly became one of the dominant men in the league. On December 27, 1997 Marty won the HWA Heavyweight Championship in a brutal one-night 30-man elimination tournament. Since that time, Marty has defended this belt many times all around the world, so far no man has been able to remove the gold from his waist.
